On Friday afternoon, Henrique and Maria (Marco's parents) and Veronica and Allie (Marco's sister and niece) met me at the airport. Manuel drove.

Between Henrique and Maria is a much younger Abigail.  Manuel is a taxi driver.  Driving with him through Mexico City was nothing short of awesome.

Maria is a wonderful cook.

Another awesome thing about Mexico is this:  they have Mexican food for EVERY MEAL!

Veronica & Allison are my friends from New Jersey.

Marco's sister and niece.

I met Coco the dog...

...and Pipo the bird.

The house was very nice.

The neighborhood was very cool.

I became very enamored with these clothespins.

On Friday night, some of us got our nails done. Some of us drank tequila. Some of us played with small giraffes.

Anna is a manicurist for TV Azteca. I didn't get a good photo of her husband Ramon, but I liked them both very much.

Saturday morning I walked around town with Henrique and Maria.

We visited la carnicerita on the plaza of the church.

We spent Saturday afternoon getting ready for the party.

Did I mention that I really love Mexican food?

Some of you may remember that I rarely try clothes on before I purchase them.  This weekend was no exception.

Allison was my invaluable translator for the weekend.

As the time for the party drew near, everyone became very excited. Except Coco.

The church was beautiful, but Abigail was moreso.

We met Abbie's escorts out in front of the church.

I sat right in front of this guy.

After mass, we gathered at a banquet hall for dinner and dancing. LOTS of dancing!

Dinner was wonderful.  There was an amazing cream of poblano soup that I will do everything in my power to recreate.

I dined with this nice family.  He was wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers jacket, so I jumped at the chance to talk football.  He assured me that he is, in fact, a Cowboys fan.
